Why should you become a Member?
The Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre (OHCC) is a non-profit organization, and as such,
yearly membership fees are an important contribution to its administrative expenses.
The Management and its Board of Directors, elected by members, perform their function on a
voluntary basis. Without the support and contribution of its approximate 200 member population, the OHCC simply would not exist.

If you are of Hungarian origin or enjoy the company of Hungarians, we urge you to become a member and support the OHCC. You will play a big part in ensuring that we can continue to provide the services and events geared towards preserving the Hungarian culture, tradition, music, and cuisine, while offering a familiar and friendly environment in which you and your family can meet old friends and make new ones.
Note: You don't have to be of Hungarian origin or speak Hungarian to become a member. We welcome diversity and we have members from several ethnic groups.
Membership Advantages
As a member, you will have the right to:
- Participate in general assembly meetings
- Nominate and vote for the Management and Board of Directors
- Vote on important issues regarding the OHCC
- Contribute your ideas and suggestions to the overall success of the OHCC
- Get up to date information on administrative matters
- Get discounts up to 20% at our yearly social events, such as New Year's Party, Valentine Ball, Katalin Ball, etc.
- Receive a Membership Card
- Advertize your business for free (for family membership only) on our website. For single memberships, you can advertize 6 months for free, and afterwards with a reduced rate.
- Receive our quarterly program list by email or regular mail
- Receive reminders of upcoming events by email
Annual Membership Fees
The membership fees need to be annually renewed at the beginning of the year (1st quarter) and they are valid until December. If you wish to become a member later in the year (in the 3rd or 4th quarter), please contact us first, as you may be eligible for a reduced fee.
The membership types and fees are as follows:
- $90 Family membership
- $50 Single membership
How to join
Download, complete and sign the MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM and mail it or bring it in person to the OHCC, accompanied by your cash, cheque or money order. Cheques and money orders should be made out to the Ottawa Hungarian Community Centre.
We regret the inconvenience, but we do not accept credit card or debit card payments at this time.
